The Project(2017)of Establishing A Management Strategy for Soil and Groundwater Contamination Base on Risk Analysis

Absrtact
In recent years, Taiwan EPA has completed drafting guidance and protocols for carrying out risk assessment in align with SGPRA. Aside from fine tuning current system structures, more emphasis has been placed on elevating management strategies, land revitalization and utilization, confirming and establishing reviewing guidelines, integrating various assessment tools. This project strengthened and promoted current contaminated site risk assessment and risk management systems by analyzing systems from other countries and exploring the possibilities for amending SGPRA in the future. To make the current reviewing process more complete, this projected had drafted reviewing guidelines for risk assessment committee and competent authority to use. This project continued to study and research ecological risk assessment method by analyzing actual ecological risk assessment case studies from other countries. Additionally, this project conducted sediment risk assessment test run in order to collect necessary parameters and confirm the feasibility of current sediment risk assessment protocols. At the mean time, how sediment risk assessment is being integrated into soil and groundwater risk assessment system was also being studied. Other than routinely maintained online risk assessment and preliminary assessment system, this project had also established “Soil and Groundwater Analysis Integrated Information System” for providing an integrated platform for all risk assessment systems.
